REPLACEMENT DOOR: How to Measure a Replacement Door to Determine the Size for Your New Castle Heart Iron Door 

From the interior of the home…

  1. Measure the width of the door slab
    • Your measurement + 1 ¾” = total width of door including jamb
    • This should be near the measurement of your new castle heart iron door
  2. Measure the height of the door from top of door slab to the floor
    • Your measurement + 1” = total height of door including jamb
    • This should be near the measurement of your new castle heart iron door
  3. Measure for exterior trim option
    • Measure width of outside masonry or sided opening
    • Measure width of outside masonry or sided opening

Consider the size of door that is documented in the plans

  1. Single 3068 – denotes 36” width x 80” height door = 37 ½” x 81 ¼” iron door
    Builder rough opening required - 38” width x 82” height
  2. Single 3080 – denotes 36” width x 96” height door = 37 ½” x 97 ¼” iron door
    Builder rough opening required - 38” width x 98” height
  3. Single 3680 – denotes 42” width x 96” height door = 43 ½” x 97 ¼” iron door
    Builder rough opening required - 44” width x 98” height
  4. Double 6068 – denotes 72” width x 80” height door = 73 ½” x 81 ¼” iron door
    Builder rough opening required - 74” width x 82” height
  5. Double 6080 – denotes 72” width x 96” height door = 73 ½” x 97 ¼” iron door
    Builder rough opening required - 74” width x 98” height
